Weekend Update...

My word, I am so glad for an extra day off this weekend!  Isn't it just glorious to know that you get to sleep in tomorrow?!  Even better, our school email has been down since Friday at 5pm and won't be up and running until Monday evening - so I'm under no obligation to even feel "connected" to school!  Love it.

Tonight, let's go with random.  Sometimes you need a little of that in your life.

So, how was your Valentine's Day?  Mine was low-key.  B knows my heart. And he knows that it won't function without a little DC in my life; hence, the Tervis Tumbler of all Tervis Tumblers :)

Becks has recently become my little reader and writer.  Very emergent.  Very cute.  Very proud mama.  His face is supposedly painted yellow to look like a dangerous lion.  We're going with it.

My PC finally died.  Sadface.  And I finally decided to cross over.  To the Mac side.  I'll wait while you applaud.  It took very little convincing to pull the trigger.  Minimal virus risk really speaks to me and my frustration with Internet Explorer among other error messages.

I went to the Reading Recovery Conference!  It. Was. Awesome.  I have so much to share with y'all.  B and I decided to make it a mini-vaca, so we enjoyed our kid-free weekend in Columbus.  So fun!

That's all I got!  I have a few things on the agenda for the coming week(s), including...

-  The Wizard of Oz

- Conference Stuff

-  Narrative Writing for K-2

-  Parts of Speech Centers {Coming Soon!}

Enjoy your extended weekend, friends :)

I know you teach in KY too, so I giggled at your comment about the email. Our email has been down since Friday as well, because we are migrating to a new system. A few coworkers and I were scratching our heads over how to access our new email on Facebook just now. :-) Ours is supposed to be back up by 7am, so I'm thinking sometime around noonish? Enjoy your day off- I have to go to work! :-(

I love Beckett's writing! So cute!!!

Love the random posts, they're always the most interesting! I made the switch to a Mac almost a year ago and I haven't looked back once. Can't wait to hear about the conference!

I know you enjoyed the Reading Recovery conference! I went every year when I was a reading Recovery teacher. Oh how I miss it. It was the most rewarding seven years of my teaching career!

Love Tervis Tumblers! Isn't it the greatest thing when your child starts to read? My daughter is in kindergarten and she blows me away daily with her reading.

Looking forward to all you learned at the conference! I'm getting ready to adapt the reseach to a mini (very mini) unit on George and Abe! :)
